INDORE: “We will win 26 seats in 2017 Goa assembly polls,” said Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar here at Indore on Saturday.

Speaking media persons after addressing the 62nd National Conference of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Indore, former chief minister of Goa said we are targeting 26 assembly seats and party will once again emerge victorious in the election.

On demonetisation issue, Parrikar said 125 crore people are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Everyone well aware about fact that whatever problems they are facing is short live and people will soon get reward for their hardship”. Parrikar added that large number of illegal activities has been stopped after demonetisation.

On conflict with Pakistan and frequent ceasefire from the neighbouring country, defence minister said, “Situation on border is peaceful and so there is no need to speak on the issue”

Replying media queries about investigation in Agusta Westland scam, defence minister said, CBI investigating case and it’s not comes under his ministry.

“We provided whatever documents they (CBI) need and action will be taken as per the norms in future,” he said.

About Congress and Samajwadi Party looking to form ally before Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2017, Parrikar in lighter mode said after, “November 8, no party has guts or in the state to contest elections alone”.
