Nomination process not completed for 11 people, officers says, 'Kejriwal is responsible'

New Delhi: 11 people who have not filed nominations from the assembly seat, are holding the election officer and CM Arvind Kejriwal responsible for this. At the same time, some people filed a petition in the High Court, saying that he reached the Election Office in time, but after the Chief Minister reached there, the election officials started filling up his nomination and the time was over. The Election Officer did not accept his nomination after this. The High Court will hear this petition on Tuesday. On Monday, this petition was mentioned before the bench of Chief Justice DN Patel, which was accepted by the court and sent to another bench for hearing. This petition is scheduled to be heard before Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva's bench on Tuesday.

According to the information received, the petition said that the petitioners had reached Jam Nagar House on the morning of January 20, 2020 for nomination at the right time with the filled nomination papers and necessary documents. The candidates waiting on the place were given tokens by the Returning Officer and on the basis of this, nomination was to be accepted in turn. Due to lack of time, the nomination of all the candidates could not be submitted and the Election Officer called them the next day. The Election Officer also said that the tokens of those people will remain valid the next day as well.

The petitioners say that when he reached the election office the next day, he saw that instead of tokens, the names of the candidates were written on a paper. At the same time, when the CM arrived, the officer took him directly inside for the application. Behind which was the arbitrariness and arbitrariness of the Returning Officer. This has violated the democratic and constitutional right of the petitioners to contest elections. Therefore, instructions should be issued to the Election Commission and Chief Electoral Officer and Election Officer to get their nomination filled.
