16 prisoners escape from Rajasthan jail after throwing chilli powder in eyes of guards

Jodhpur: A shocking incident has been recorded from Rajasthan's jail. Reportedly, 16 inmates ran away from the sub-jail in Phalodi town. The officials are searching the inmates to locate the escaped detainees.

According to information received, it's not the first time such an incident is heard from Rajasthan. The inmates threw chili powder in the eyes of jail guards and escaped successfully. The incident is of Jodhpur district, Rajasthan. Phalodi deputy collector Yashpal Ahuja said, “Upon noticing the commotion, I came rushing to the spot and saw vegetables strewn on the floor. A woman police personnel was screaming in pain." When he questioned about the situation the guard said that five-seven prisoners have escaped from the jail after throwing chili powder and vegetables at the jail guards. Now, after the situation is understood by the officials have issued the alert to the SHO and district collector about the incident, following which efforts were initiated to apprehend the escaped detainees. Ahuja has confirmed a total of 16 prisoners have escaped from the jail. He further stated that the additional district magistrate, after receiving information, arrived at the scene. 

Ahuja answering the questions said that he does not know if it was a planned one or just happened. He also clears that major mistakes on the part of the prison staff helped the inmates to escape from the jail.
