Washington: A horrific gang war has come to light in Mexico, a state close to the US. There was a shooting at an event here in which 19 people lost their lives. Among the dead were 16 men and 3 women. Many people were also injured in the incident. The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment. According to the Attorney General's Office of Central Mexico (FGE), the incident took place around 10.30 pm on Sunday night in the Central Mexico Region. The shooting took place in the Las Tinajas area of Michoacan state. People gathered here for a festival event. According to Michoacan's public safety secretary, raids are being conducted from place to place to arrest the accused involved in the violence. Michoacan and its neighbouring state of Guanajuato are the two most violent states in Mexico. There are many illegal activities like drug trafficking here. Incidents of gang war also keep coming to the fore every day between the gangs involved.
