Mumbai: A 19-year-old college student w reportedly stabbed to death with sharp-edged weapons in the middle of a Mumbai road on February 2 evening by 2 unknown persons, Chunabhatti police said. The deceased has been identified as Mukhtar Sheikh, a resident of Chembur neighborhood. Police said, on Thursday evening, around 6.30 pm, two youths stabbed Sheikh and fled from the spot. The accused are currently absconding. People carried the student to the near hospital in a seriously injured state, and the doctor there informed the police that he had been brought dead. The victim was reportedly returning home from college in the Chunabhatti area of Mumbai. The case includes a love affair component, say the authorities. It is said, a girl had been in love with a boy before, but she dumped him and began seeing the deceased (Mukhtar Sheikh), which led to the girl's former lover and a buddy carrying out the incident, One of the suspects in the murder has been named by the police. The Chunabhatti police have lodged a case under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the two unidentified persons. Along with the criminal section, the police are still looking into the case.
