New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspected 29 antiquities that have been brought back to India by Australia. According to the theme, antiquities are in 6 broad categories – Shiva and his disciples, worship of Shakti, Lord Vishnu and his forms, Jain tradition, paintings and other decorative objects. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) gave information in this regard on Monday. The PMO has pointed out that these are mainly different types of materials – sandstone, marble, bronze, brass, statues executed in paper and paintings. Representing a large geographical area in India, the antiques are from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Telangana and West Bengal. All these antiquities come from different time periods, which are from 9-10 centuries BC. Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison are scheduled to hold a digital summit today i.e. on Monday, in which the entire broad strategic relationship between the two sides, including in the areas of trade and investment, is likely to be further enhanced. After the first digital summit between Modi and Morrison in June 2020, it is scheduled to meet on Monday. At that time, India-Australia relations were taken to the level of a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership'.
