India's star cue player Pankaj Advani has once again won the title of Asian Billiards Championship. Pankaj Advani, 36, defeated compatriot Dhruv Sitwala by six frames in the final of the 19th Asian Championship 2022 here on Saturday. This is his 8th Asian and 24th international title.

Pankaj Advani managed to win the first frame easily against two-time Asian billiards champion Sitwala to take a 2-0 lead at a century break in the second. Advani continued to dominate in the third, but Sitwala came back in the fourth frame to narrow the gap. Pankaj Advani then went on to lead 4-1 with a win in the 5th frame and then went on to win in the 6th as well. The 7th frame went to Sitwala but Pankaj Advani beat his opponent 6-2 with a brilliant break.

Pankaj had earlier overcame a tough challenge from Myanmar's Pock Sa to reach the final with a 5-4 victory. Pankaj Advani, who won the World Championship title 23 times, made it 4-2 after taking a 2-0 lead in the semi-final match. However, Pock Sa drew the draw by winning the next 2 frames. From which the result had to come from the deciding frame. Advani continued his scintillating streak as he defeated Pok Sa 5-4.
