UP: Two buses collide in Bahraich, 3 killed and 6 injured

Bahraich: Three persons including the driver of the two buses were killed while six other passengers are said to be injured in a collision between two buses in Jarwal Road police station area on Bahraich-Lucknow highway in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh late on Monday night, two of whom are said to be in critical condition. The authorities have informed in this regard.

CM Yogi Adityanath has directed senior officials to reach the spot and take stock of the relief operations. Additional Superintendent of Police (Nagar) Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said on Tuesday that "At around 9.30 pm on Monday, a roadways bus travelling from Lucknow to Gonda near Shukla Dhaba in Jarwal Road police station area collided with a private bus travelling from Gonda to Lucknow, killing 3 persons including the driver of the buses and injuring six others".

Police who reached the spot after receiving information evacuated the injured from the bus and rushed them to a nearby Community Health Centre (CHC) Mustafabad. ASP said Ramchandra, Shiv Nath Shukla and Akash Tiwari (both Gonda residents) died during treatment at CHC. Ramchandra's address is not known. He said two seriously injured persons have been sent to a big hospital for treatment. The remaining four injured are undergoing treatment at a community health centre.
