31-year-old bizman dies in accident during a test drive

Bengaluru, Mar 27: The dream of a young Bengaluru-based businessman and his family to own a luxury car culminated in a tragedy. Sagar J Rao, 31, was killed while four others, including his wife and six-year-old son, suffered severe injuries as a Range Rover SUV he was test-driving met with an accident in south Bengaluru, on Tuesday.

According to the report, the incident occurred at around 3 PM on NICE Road near the PES College Toll Plaza in Hosakerehalli of the southern part of the city. Byatarayanapura traffic police suspect Rao, a resident of Padmanabhanagar and a native of Mysuru, was driving the Range Rover SUV at a high speed when the accident occurred.

Sagar died on the way to the hospital. His wife Sandhya, 28, has injured her spine. Sagar’s son Samarth (6), their family friend and Sagar’s business partner Goutham (30), as well as the representative from the car company, Shivakumar, were also present in the car and got injured in the accident.

Police sources said that Sagar veered the car to the extreme left when approaching the toll plaza, hitting a cement block, crashing into the road railings and flipping over a number of times. The car finally came to a stop when it landed in a 10-meter deep ditch, the sources added. A case has been registered in this regard.
