In a yet another shocking incident comes to light from Dhawade in the Uttam Nagar area of Pune's Shivane where a woman allegedly killed her five-year-old stepdaughter. The accused has been identified as Ritika Anand. Police have now arrested her and investigating the whole issue. The accused Ritika is a 35-year-old women who is a resident of Dhawade in the Uttam Nagar area of Pune's Shivane. As per the information, the accused hit her stepdaughter, Shweta, with a hard object. She then took her stepdaughter to a hospital and tried to create a fake story about the girl dying of seizures. The doctors after examining the 5-year-old found injury and burn marks on the girl's body. After this, they informed the police. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the accused had thrashed the minor girl three days before her death. The woman was booked under relevant sections of the IPC, including 302 and 182. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter. While this is not the first incident these types of incidents are very common these days. Earlier in a similar incident that surfaced in January, a woman allegedly killed her seven-year-old stepdaughter in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district for gaining her husband's attention. The incident took place in the Bahedi area of the district. The victim was identified as Rashmi. The girl's father, Ghanshyam, is a labourer and his wife died three years ago due to illness. He got married to another woman and she killed his daughter for his attention.
