NEW DELHI: The crime department of the Delhi Police on Saturday that A 35-year-old man, wanted in three human trafficking cases and carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, was arrested from Ghaziabad.

The culprit, named as Sanjay alias Prakash alias Mintu Mirdaha, a resident of Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad and a native of Purnia, Bihar, used to prowl about Delhi's train stations and seduce naïve ladies under the guise of marriage before selling each one to other states for Rs. 4-5 lakh.

Sanjay and other people were allegedly detained in 2017 for kidnapping a 14-year-old girl, according to the police.
"The girl was recovered. Two more minor girls were recovered from one of the accused's houses. The gang members, including Sanjay, trafficked these females for sexual exploitation "according to Special Commissioner of Police Ravindra Singh Yadav (Crime).

Sanjay was released on bail by court On May 21, 2022,  but he jumped the bail and absconded. He was declared a proclaimed offender.

One 14-year-old girl left for school on August 6, 2022, but she never came home. During further investigation, it was discovered that two additional girls from the same class were also missing.

"Sanjay seduced all three of the females and drove them to Ghaziabad. He went on to sell the other two, but the third one managed to escape. The girls went back to her house and told the neighbourhood police everything that had happened "Yadav said.

Sanjay was taken into custody in Vijay Nagar, nevertheless, when police recently obtained specific information about him during an inquiry. Sanjay admitted during questioning that he belongs to a gang involved in the trafficking of young women.

"The modus operandi of the gang is to roam around the railway stations in Delhi and induce the innocent girls on the pretext of marriage and then sell them in different states for marriage in lieu of Rs 4-5 lakh for each girl," said the Special CP.

Sanjay further revealed that he had earlier been arrested in four more cases of human trafficking. In Dadri, Bhiwani, Sanjay sold a female for the first time in 2017, after seducing her. Following that, he and the other gang members sold numerous ladies.
