ABVP-SFI students clash at Hyd university, Students injured

Hyderabad: A clash broke out between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members and the Students' Federation of India (SFI) at Hyderabad Central University on Friday, sources said.

As per reports, some students were also injured in the clash incident which broke out during students' union election held on Friday night, said sources.

Members of the ABVP claimed that SFI attacked their tribal students violently and with dangerous instruments like knives.

The ABVP members claim that tribal students and their supporters were physically assaulted by SFI activists for refusing to back their cause.

SFI has unleashed violence against the tribal students and karyakartas of ABVP HCU, according to a tweet from ABVP on Twitter. They made use of cutting tools. We strongly condemn this assault on our karyakartas. @ABVPVoice @ABVPTelangana.

the Students' Federation of India said in a tweet as follows: "Condemn the brutal attack by ABVP goons on SFI comrades today, on the night of the union election polling day, SFI comrades were brutally attacked by ABVP goons inside the Men's hostel F. The incident started with ABVP members in a drunken state abusing and targeting our comrades."
