In Punjab, there has been an embarrassing story. A 70-year-old woman has been raped by her own 40-year-old son in a village in Bhulath in Kapurthala. Police have nabbed the culprit as soon as they received the complaint and registered a case under Section 376 of the IPC. According to reports, SHO Bhulatth Jasbir Singh said he was complained by a woman from Kapurthala village that he had two sons. The younger son works in a factory in Jalandhar. The eldest son lives at home and was divorced from his wife. The woman is alleged to have entered her room at midnight on April 27-28 and raped her. Police arrested the culprit on the complaint of the elderly woman and registered a case under Section 376 against her. The victim has undergone medical treatment at a civil hospital. The case is being investigated by ASI Lakhwinder Kaur. The accused has been produced before the court on Thursday from where he was ordered to be remanded in judicial custody. The SHO said the culprit has undergone a covid test. He will be sent to jail after the report is received.
