6 veterans Shortlisted for the post of Indian team coach

Mumbai: The selection of the head coach of the Indian cricket team has reached the final stage. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shortlisted six veterans for the head coach, including the name of team India's current head coach Ravi Shastri, who has got direct entry into the process. Ravi Shastri is currently on a tour of the West Indies.

According to the BCCI, interviews of six candidates for the post of head coach will be held in Mumbai on The 16th of this month. Among the six names that BCCI has sealed are Ravi Shastri, former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson, former Australian all-rounder and Sri Lankan coach Tom Moody, former West Indies all-rounder and Afghanistan team coach Phil Simmons, former manager of the Indian team, Lal Chand. Japut, former Indian fielding coach Robin Singh, is named.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators has again set up a cricket advisory committee to select The Head Coach of Team India. The three-member committee is headed by former Team India captain Kapil Dev. Apart from Kapil Dev, it includes Anshuman Gaikwad and former women cricketer Shanta Rangaswamy, who are members of the committee. On the other hand, the rest of the support staff is to be interviewed by the Senior Selection Committee headed by MSK Prasad for which time has not been fixed.
