Telangana: Major Setback to TDP, 60 top leaders joins BJP

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Telangana has suffered a severe setback. More than 60 top leaders of the state have joined the BJP by breaking away from the party. Along with these top leaders, thousands of activists also joined the BJP in the presence of BJP Executive Chairman Jp Nadda.

"As far as Telangana BJP is concerned, it is a very good sign," said Lanka Dinkaran, who left the TDP in June. It is also a positive sign for the state of Telangana," Dinkaran said, adding that "many new activists have joined the party after three divorces and the removal of Section 370."  Speaking on the occasion, Nadda said, "There will be elections at 8 lakh booths in September. Mandal elections will be held in October and district level elections will be held in November," he said.

Nadda further said that "elections will be completed in all states by December 15." The election of the BJP's national president will be concluded before December 31.  Nadda also attacked the Chandrashekhar Rao government in Telangana. He said, "About 26 lakh families in Telangana do not get the benefit of Ayushman Bharat-Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana as the scheme is not applicable in the state. The CM here has nothing to do with the public."
