The Puducherry government said on Friday that the total number of coronavirus cases in the Union Territory has reached 2,513. Out of the total coronavirus cases, 996 cases are active in the state at present. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1,483 people have become healthy in the state so far, while the death toll has gone up to 34.
On the other hand, the highest number of 49,310 cases have been reported in the country on Friday in 24 hours. With 740 deaths in the last 24 hours, 30,601 people have died in India so far. With this, the total coronavirus positive cases are 12,87,945, of which 4,40,135 are active cases, 8,17,209 people have recovered from the virus so far.
Be aware that according to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 3 lakh 52 thousand 801 samples have been tested on Thursday. With this, a total of 1 crore 54 lakh, 28 thousand 170 samples have been tested in India till July 23. Lokesh Sharma, scientist and media coordinator at ICMR, said that till Wednesday, 10 lakh samples were tested in three days. The testing capacity has increased to four lakh samples every day.
