Girl found lying delirious near railway station in Mumbai, suspected rape victim

Mumbai: A 25-year-old girl was found unconscious on a track near Vashi railway station in Mumbai, the economic capital of the country. Police suspect that the woman has been raped and unidentified people have attempted to murder her. A police officer has given information in this regard.

The police official said Friday that the motorman of a local train found the young woman lying unconscious near the railway station bridge on Tuesday. The young woman's body had bruises. He was admitted to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment. He said that during the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the young woman lives in Titwala in Thane district and works at Pakai in Mumbai. She went to her home once a week. The officer said he had come home last Sunday and then returned to work the next day. He did not contact his family for the next two days. On Tuesday, he was found unconscious on the track.

He said that the young woman was initially admitted to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital (NMMC) in Vashi. He was admitted to JJ Hospital in Mumbai after initial treatment. The police official said the woman's situation seems to have tried to take her life. At present, the police have registered a case in the relevant sections and started an investigation.
