Gay relationships have become more frequent in our society, over the years. Recently a man in Chennai reportedly murdered his gay partner. Both men worked in an electronic goods shop in Ritchie Street of Anna Salai. The couple were having a strained relationship with each other since few days. The shop owner informed that two years ago his shop’s keys went missing, after which he got the duplicate keys made. He admitted doubting Prabhu for having stolen the keys. Prabhu often opened the shop and spent time with his partner Saravanan. Recently Saravanan’s mother is believed to have threatened Prabhu, over meeting her son, after which they were having a strained relationship. According to the neighbours, one day, their conversation heated up and both of them started screaming at each other. A few hours later, when a female employ came to open the shop, she found both of them dead. One’s body was lying on the floor, wet in blood. While the other one’s body was found hanging from the ceiling. The investigators believe that after a heated conversation, Saravan stabbed Prabhu with a sharp object [probably knife] and then proceeded towards hanging himself to death. A case of murder and suicide have been lodged.
