Massive fire breaks out in Mahakal temple in the month of Sawan

Ujjain: A fire broke out in the courtyard of Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh at around 10 pm on Thursday night. However, the fire was brought under control in time, due to which a major accident was avoided. The attendants and security guards of Omkareshwar temple showed promptness and controlled the fire with fire extinguishers and water.

According to the reports, preparations are underway for Nag Panchami at  Mahakaleshwar temple. Due to which a temporary bridge is being constructed here. The cylinder caught fire around 10 pm on Thursday while welding the gas. Due to this, cardboard papers and plastic bottles lying a little away from the Omkareshwar temple were burnt. On receiving the news of the fire, the attendants of the Omkareshwar temple and the security personnel of the temple rushed there and brought the fire under control. The sudden incident of arson in the night had created a situation of panic.  

Lord Mahakal's ride is taken out every year in the month of Sawan-Bhadau and in this order, a total of six riders will be taken out this year. This time, Baba's palanquin has to be removed from the traditional route. For about two years, the ride was being taken out from the changed route due to Corona, but this year there is talk of taking a ride from the traditional route.
