Local train derailed at Atgaon station near Mumbai

Mumbai: A local train coach derailed on Saturday morning near Atgaon station, 95 km from Mumbai, the economic capital of India. An official has given this information. Atgaon Station is located on the Central Railway (CR) route in neighbouring Thane district. According to the official, the train was on its way to Kasara station.

"A trolley of a coach between the suburban train derailed near Atgaon station at 7.28 am. No one was injured in the incident." According to The Regional Railways, it was a first-class coach with no more passengers at the time of the incident. At present, only the employees of the required and emergency services, as well as the nationalised banks and various state government, central government office employees are allowed to travel on local trains in Mumbai.

The train coach derailed while approaching Atgaon station after which train operations on Kalyan-Kasara route were disrupted.  Relief trains have been ordered and the work will start soon.
