A man with fake degree operates kidney stone, arrested

Delhi: A man who was allegedly running a clinic without a licence in Delhi got arrested after a woman passed away in the middle of an operation.

According to the report, The accused was allegedly operating without a medical licence. Following the operation, the husband of the deceased took her to several doctors in an attempt to save her. 

As per report, the woman passed away on February 8 and a complaint was registered in relation with the same. The accused was identified as Neeraj Kumar.

In Investigation it is found that the accused had been running a clinic-cum-operation centre without a licence since the past one year. The accused used to pretend to be a doctor. Not only this, even though his wife was an anganwadi worker, he pretended that she was a doctor at AIIMS. 

Dr Girish Tyagi The Secretary of the Medical Council of India, said that the qualification of the accused is not recognised by the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Tyagi added that the accused is not qualified to practice medicine He also said that Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science degree of the accused was fake, his clinic was also not registered with the Delhi Medical Council. 

The husband of the deceased, Amit Kumar stated that he had trusted the fact that the accused was an MBBS doctor. The woman was allegedly suffering with a kidney stone. When Kumar learnt that an operation at a private hospital would cost around Rs 2 lakh, he decided to find other options for the same. Kumar got to know about the accused from a friend of his. The card that the accused gave to Kumar stated that he was qualified as: MBS, MS, MCH (cardiology), Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon, General Surgeon and Critical Care.  The accused allegedly charged Rs 41,000 for the operation. Kumar was asked to leave the hospital but he went inside the operation theatre after listening to his wife scream. The accused saw that his wife was unconscious and two men were stitching her stomach.After the accused and his wife accompanied Kumar to Apollo Hospital and ran away from there after the deceased was admitted there.

The doctors stated that the accused had performed a crucial operation on the deceased. Kumar then took his wife to LNJP hospital and the GB Pant hospital due to the lack of ventilators. However, his wife was declared dead at 2.30 am.

Along with the accused, the police also arrested his allies, Rohit Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
