Banda: A court in Banda district of U.P. has sentenced the wife and her lover to life imprisonment in the murder of the husband on Monday. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5000 each. Assistant Government Counsel for Banda District Sushil Tiwari on Tuesday said after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and defence lawyers, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Shri Krishna Yadav held the woman and her lover responsible for killing Rajendra Singh on the night of 20 September 2011. The deceased's wife and her lover have been sentenced to life imprisonment and have imposed a fine of Rs 5000 each. Giving information, Tiwari has said that a complaint about the incident was made by Rameshwar Singh, elder brother of Rajendra Singh, resident of Niwach village, at the Palani police station on 21 September 2011. In which it was said that Rajendra's wife Sunita had illicit relations with Sunita's elder sister's son Kuldeep Singh. Sunita and her lover Kuldeep attacked Rajendra with an axe in the field at night. Earlier Sunita was granted bail in this case, while Kuldeep has been in jail since his arrest. 12 witnesses were produced in the court on behalf of the prosecution, after which the court has given the verdict.
