Kerala CM warns stringent action against those misusing online study platforms

Kochi: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said on Tuesday that digital schooling has been a major success in the state during the epidemic. But attempts were made to misuse children's online study platforms for anti-social activities. Under which the CM warned of person action against such cyber-crimes. He told the state assembly that however, the cyber sector has many benefits. But nowadays it is misused by anti-social elements to blame and mislead children.

One such intervention was hacking online classes by creating fake IDs and uploading obscene discussions and videos in (social media) groups, which have children, teachers, and parents as members, he said. We need to ensure security without compromising. Vijayan MCP MLA was replying to a submission recently on Sachin Dev's attempt to infiltrate children's online study platforms through some vested interests.

The CM said that police have received 51 such complaints in this regard. The CM said a total of 8 cases were registered after confirmation of the recovered tahrirs and investigation is on. He said that it is only through strict awareness that children can be made aware of such threats and this requires our collective efforts. The CM also mentioned several measures taken by the state police to prevent cybercrimes at various levels, especially against children and other vulnerable groups of society.
