Adele has now formally won an Emmy, putting her one step closer to earning the EGOT. After the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, on Sunday, September 4, when Adele: One Night Only was one of the night's top victors with 5 major prizes, the singer proudly posted selfies with the Emmy statuette on Instagram. Adele took to Instagram to express her happiness over the same on Instagram, she wrote, "Bloody hell I’m pleased as punch! Thank you @mrbenwinston for dropping this round to me this afternoon!! Trust me to officially have an EGO." Adele also tagged one of the executive producers of Adele: One Night Only in her post. Adele won the Emmy for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony. Adele: One Night Only also won an award for outstanding directing for a variety of specials. Additionally, the programme won honours for outstanding sound mixing for a variety of series or specials, outstanding lighting design/lighting direction for a variety of specials, and outstanding technical direction, camerawork, and video control for a special. Fans of the singer noticed right away that she hasn't received a Tony Award, which would give her the EGOT designation since she has already received 15 Grammy Awards and an Oscar. Adele's most recent award-winning special, One Night Only, debuted in November 2021 and included 10 performances, including four songs from her most recent album 30, as well as a sit-down conversation with Oprah Winfrey in which the artist talked about both her personal and professional lives.
