Recently, Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly Abdul Mannan had raised the demand to make Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary the state unit president. In this regard, Mannan had written a letter to Sonia Gandhi and said that Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary should be appointed as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party in the Lok Sabha and also be appointed as the President of Bengal. He had said in his letter that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary has full potential to lead the party to fight and defeat both the BJP and Trinamool Congress in the West Bengal assembly elections.
