Mumbai: In a shocking incident, three persons have been arrested for allegedly abducting a woman and trying to forcibly marry an old man in Maharashtra, police said on Sunday. The criminals were identified as Muskan Shaikh, her mother Munni and her friend Shahrukh Sayyed. The victim, Nisha Ingole, said the criminals held her hostage and assaulted her. Then, they were trying to forcibly marry her to an old man. In her complaint to the police, the victim has said that she lives in Jogeshwari area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. On May 22, 2023, at around 3 pm, Nisha had a minor dispute with her husband over something. Angered by this, she went to Munni's house in the neighbourhood and stayed at her house all night. The next day, on May 23, 2023, at around 9:30 am, when she was returning home, Munni, her daughter Muskan Shaikh and Muskan's friend Shahrukh Sayyed stopped her. Muskan Sheikh told her- 'Now your husband will not keep you with him. Thereafter, the criminals forcibly took her to Chittegaon and locked her in a room there. When the victim told her to go back to her house, the three criminals beat her up and threatened to kill her.' After this, Muskan, Munni and Shahrukh told the victim that they were going to get her married to a very rich man named Shyam Narwade. It is not yet clear who is Shyam Narawade, the man to whom the woman was being forcibly married. Also, it has not been confirmed whether there is a person by that name or not. The victim further said that after keeping her locked in a room in Chittegaon for two days, the three criminals took her to a building on Deolai Square on Beed-Bypass Road in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Here the victim woman was introduced to an old man and said that she was to get married to this man. When the victim refused to get married, he brought her back to Chittegaon and locked her in the same room and beat her brutally. The next day, when the three criminals left her alone in the room, the victim fled from there. She then contacted her husband and narrated the entire incident. Based on the victim's complaint, the police registered a case against the three criminals Muskan Shaikh, Munni and Shahrukh Sayyed under sections 323, 34, 343, 366, 504 and 506 of the IPC. Subsequently, on Sunday (May 28, 2023), the three criminals were arrested.
