The Brahman Nijog Samiti of the Lingaraj temple filed a complaint at the Lingaraj police station seeking action against the website Tashukeru for hurting sentiments of devotees. Tashukeru website had recently announced to make home delivery of ‘Abadha’ of Lingaraj and Anant Vasudev temples on order in the Twin Cities. It faced opposition after it was found that some flyers of Tashukeru were carrying Abadha along with parcels of non-vegetarian food items. Secretary of Brahmana Nijog Samiti Biranchi Narayan Pati has requested the police in written to stop the sale of the Abhada. He demanded immediate arrest of those selling Abadha in an unauthorised manner. On November 3, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri has logged a police complaint against e-commerce giant Amazon over the online sale of ‘Nirmalya’. In SJTA complaint lodged at Singhadwara police station, SJTA Administrator (Development) Ajay Kumar Jena alleged that Nirmalya is being sold online by Amazon without permission from the temple administration.
