Jaipur: A statement made by Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot regarding rape has been in the news. Ashok Gehlot has said that after the Nirbhaya case, the law of hanging for criminals has come, due to which the incidents of murder after rape have increased. He said that this dangerous trend seen in the country is a matter of concern. After chief minister Ashok Gehlot's statement, BJP leaders started attacking him. BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Jaihind has attacked Gehlot, referring to his statement. Shahzad said, "Gehlot did not criminalise the rapists but the strict rape laws! "After Nirbhaya, rape-related killings have increased due to the stricter law! Not the first such statement! He has also said that most rape cases are fake! His minister said that there is a state of the dead, so rapes take place but Priyankaji is silent?'' Shahzad further said that Priyanka Vadra is silent even though Rajasthan topped in terms of women's atrocities. Even after many leaders have made statements about rape, she is silent because from riots to rape, the law and order of Rajasthan have gone out of hand. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, 5,310 rape cases were registered in Rajasthan in the year 2020. Not only this, according to the NCRB, just a year before this (2019), there were 5,997 cases of rape. In both years, Rajasthan was number one in the country in cases of rape.
