With the slogans hitting sky praising the late AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha by party supporters, current Chief minister E Palaniswami inaugurated the memorial. A phoenix-themed memorial for the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was inaugurated at the Marina in Chennai by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday, January 27. Three years after he laid the foundation stone for the memorial along with the Deputy CM O Panneerselvam inauguration was successfully done. Chief Minister Palaniswami was accompanied by AIADMK Organizer Panneerslevam and Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal. Ministers, MPs, MLAs and senior party leaders were present at the ceremony. The state government had earlier allocated Rs 50 crore for constructing the phoenix-themed memorial for Jayalalithaa, fondly addressed as 'Amma' by her supporters. Huge crowd of supporters were thronged the Kamarajar Salai to witness the inauguration of the memorial. The memorial was constructed at an area of more than 50,000 square feet, will house all the regular features such as a library and photo exhibition. The latest tech delights such as augmented reality, laser light shows and selfie points will also be featured.
