AICTE, All India Council of Technical Education has advised the states to complete all the admission process to engineering courses by December 31, 2020. In a circular released by the AICTE on December 3 this year the organization clarified that the last date has now been extended because the CET results were released late this year in some states. This includes admissions to UG, UG lateral, diploma, diploma lateral, and PG admissions. The last date is revised only for the states where the CET Result was delayed because of coronavirus. AICTE circular In the circular passed reads that the ‘last date for admission to Engineering Courses is extended up to December 31, 2020, in only those cases where counseling and admission had not started due to delayed CET of the state or where counseling has yet to been over with a rise that classes were not started for more than 15 days to take care or the academic requirements of the students to avoid academic loss’. Other details The admission process is extended only if the classes have not started or not been more than 15 days. The impact of the announcement would also be directly on MHT CET 2020 admissions where the counseling process had not started as yet.
