AIIMS Bhopal’s Ordinary OPD to be closed from April 19

After having crossed the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the state by over 55,000, the government is busy arranging beds for patients. The government has now reserved 500 beds for corona patients at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal.

Apart from this, there will be Intensive Care units of 165-bed capacity. According to the information, the General OPD will be closed from April 19 in AIIMS. But the emergency OPD will continue. Similarly, treatment will be provided to non-corona patients only when there is an emergency. Along with this, regular operations will also be stopped. Operations will be done only in the emergency case. AIIMS Bhopal has a total of 870 beds. Of these, 665 beds are being reserved for Corona patients.

The remaining beds will be for patients suffering from serious illnesses. AIIMS currently has 132 patients admitted. There is an ICU of 30 beds, which is being increased to 165 beds. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang reached AIIMS on Thursday to take stock of the ongoing preparations in relation to the treatment of Covid patients. He was accompanied by Medical Education Commissioner Nishant Varavade. The minister said that non corona patients at AIIMS will be gradually discharged. But gradually the ward will be extended and non-corona patients will be admitted.
