New Delhi: The vaccination campaign against corona has gained new momentum across the country. Now every citizen of the country is being vaccinated for free. Meanwhile, Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, Delhi AIIMS, says that vaccine is expected to be available in the country for children above the age of 2 years by September. He said that the Covaxin trial for use on children is underway and the results of the second and third phase slated for the trial will be out by September and the vaccine will be given the green signal to be used on children in the same month. He also said that if the Pfizer-biotech (Pfizer-BioNTech's) vaccine is approved in India, it could also be an option for children. Delhi AIIMS has already started screening children for these trials. It began on June 7 and includes children between the ages of 2 and 17. On May 12, DCGI approved Bharat Biotech to conduct a trial of Covaxin on children under the age of two. The AIIMS director further said that policy makers should now consider opening schools in such a way that the corona virus infection does not spread much. He further said that a holistic approach should be taken for this. He said that in non-conditioned areas, it will greatly help children to call schools on alternative days and follow corona protocols. He also said that open air schooling would be a good way to avoid india's climate-transmitted infections, but they may not allow it.
