Can corona infection spread by air travel?

After the resumption of domestic airlines in India, a question is being asked about the risk of infection in air travel during the Kovid-19 crisis. Generally, the risk of virus infection inside the aircraft is considered to be low, except in cases in which traveling near the infected person. In the past years, some studies have been done about this. In the perspective of the Coronavirus, it does not talk about the spread of the virus in the plane, but only presents the conclusions about the virus.

For your information, let us tell you that the World Health Organization (WHO) on infections spread through droplets says that the infection can spread among passengers sitting in the same area of the aircraft. Usually by coughing or sneezing or touching the infected. In a highly contagious condition such as influenza, it is likely to spread when the aircraft's ventilation system is not functioning. Ventilation changes the air 20–30 times per hour.

After the arrival of the coronavirus, the WHO has instructed to keep a distance of one meter. In 2018, researchers at Emory University and Georgia Tech designed the model inside the aircraft to detect respiratory diseases that spread through the droplets. Seat 14C shows the infected passenger. The rate of spread is 80 to 100 percent for 11 seats and less than 3 percent for all other seats. The probability of spreading the infection away from the nearest 11 seats is less than 1 percent.
