Legendary Leander Paes has been retained in the six-man squad for next month's Davis Cup match against Croatia. Rohit Rajpal will remain the non-player Davis Cup captain. The All India Tennis Association has asked Rajpal to assume the captaincy of the team in the 2020 season. Rajpal was given the command of the team last year when top players and then captain Mahesh Bhupathi refused to visit Pakistan in November. India has to travel to Croatia for their next match on March 6 and 7. Rajpal is also the president of DLTA. As expected, Prajnesh Gunneswaran has returned to the team, who could not play in the match against Pakistan due to marriage. Sumit Nagal and Ramkumar Ramanathan are the other singles players in the six-member team. The AITA selection committee headed by Balram Singh has selected three doubles players for the match. These include Rohan Bopanna, Divij Sharan and Paes. A five-member team will be announced before the match. Bopanna and Sharan did not play against Pakistan in Noor Sultan. While Bopanna was injured, Sharan was busy in his wedding reception. With the return of both, the selection panel has not selected Jeevan Neduchezhian.
