New Delhi: For the fans of the Indian cricket team, February 7 is a day to remember. 21 years ago on this day in 1999, Anil Kumble took all 10 wickets in an inning of the Test against Pakistan. He became the second bowler in the world to do so. Before that, England off-spinner Jim Laker had the charisma of taking the entire 10 wickets (51.2-23-53-10) of the innings in the 1956 Manchester Test against Australia.

Leg-spinner Kumble, who played at Delhi's Ferozshah Kotla Stadium (now Arun Jaitley Stadium) from 4 to 7 February 1999, took 10 wickets for 74 runs with 9 maidens in 26.3 overs in an innings. In that match, Pakistan team openers Saeed Anwar and Shahid Afridi shared a 101-run partnership to chase a target of 420 runs, but after that, Kumble's spin, the entire team was reduced to 207 runs and India won by 212 runs.

Kumble first walked Shahid Afridi and then took all the wickets thereafter. When Kumble had taken 9 wickets, the then captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who was bowling from the other end, asked Javagal Srinath to throw the balls out of the off stump, so that he could not get a wicket and Kumble got the last tenth wicket.

Here are ten wickets of Kumble: -

1 - Shahid Afridi (41) caught out by Nayan Mongia

2 - Ijaz Ahmed (0) LBW

3 - Inzamam-ul-Haq (6) Clean Bold

4 - Mo Joseph (0) lbw

5 - Moin Khan (3) caught by Sourav Ganguly

8 - Mushtaq Ahmed (1) caught by Rahul Dravid
