Haryanavi will be seen in the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi from 17 to 23 February. Of the 30-member Indian contingent, 23 wrestlers are from Haryana. Among them, Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik from Rohtak, her husband Satyavrat Kadian and Sumit Malik are also ready to show their strength in the championship.

In the Free Style, Greco Roman Style and Women's Wrestling Championships, Indian wrestlers may get a challenge from wrestlers from Japan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan. It is considered a better opportunity for Indian wrestlers to assess themselves before the Tokyo Olympics. Through this competition, Indian wrestlers will also be able to test their preparations.

Let us tell you that among the wrestlers of the Indian team participating in the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship, there are 13 wrestlers who work in the Railways. Seven wrestlers are studying. There are four wrestlers working in the army. Two wrestlers are in Punjab Police and one in Haryana Police. Vice President of the Wrestling Federation of India, Dr. Rajkumar Hooda said that the Indian team is a contender for the championship. All wrestlers are capable of winning medals. Wrestlers from Japan, Iran, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are expected to be challenged.
