Akshay Kumar arrives in Chhattisgarh, will shoot this film

Raigarh: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar arrived in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh on Saturday. Akshay Kumar's upcoming film is to be shot for 4 days in Raigad district. The film's director Sudha Kongara has already reached Raigad. Actor Akshay Kumar will be shooting for the remake of South's film Soorarai Pottru in Chhattisgarh. National Award-winning Tamil film Soorarai Pottru is being remade in Hindi, in which Akshay Kumar and actress Radhika Madan will play the lead characters. A team of 40 people reached Raigad to shoot on Friday.

Fans of Akshay Kumar reached the airport upon the news of his arrival in Raigad. A huge crowd had gathered around the airstrip. Police rushed them to the hotel amid tight security. Keeping in mind the security, the police and administration have made elaborate arrangements. Scenes and locations of the aircraft are to be shot at Jindal Air Strip. Members of the technical team that shot the film have come to Raigad two days ago. The film production company had sought permission from Raigad Collector Ranu Sahu to shoot for 4 days from October 14 to 17. There are also reports of Akshay Kumar coming to Raipur after the shoot.  

The direction of the remake is being handled by the director of the original film Sudha Kongara. The story of Soorarai Pottru is inspired by Captain GR Gopinath. He laid the foundation of Air Deccan. He dreamt that every Indian could fly in a plane. His thinking was that the price of air tickets should be in the budget of the common man. Suriya played the lead character in the original film. Actor Akshay Kumar will play this role in his place in the Hindi remake film.
