Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclone this week. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert about the cyclone. According to the IMD, the low-pressure area over the southeast and east may be effective in the next 48 hours. After this, it will move towards the west. By the morning of October 22, it can take the form of a severe cyclone. IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has said that the storm can also wreak havoc in the coastal areas.
