Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Nadeem Ansari, who posted a video of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma being beheaded on social media. Considering the circumstances, a bench of Justice Deepak Verma granted bail to Nadeem. Ansari was arrested on June 13, 2022. He was booked under sections 153A, 295A, 505(2) of the IPC and section 67 of the Information Technology Act 2008. Ansari had tried to spread racial unrest by posting a video showing Nupur Sharma's head being beheaded on Facebook and his mobile. After his arrest, Nadeem Ansari immediately filed a bail application before the court. In his petition, he claimed that he was innocent and falsely accused in the case. Ansari was later granted bail by the high court. Earlier on October 13, 2022, the Rajasthan High Court refused to grant bail to Khadim Gauhar Chishti of Ajmer Dargah. The Khadim of Ajmer Dargah had demanded the beheading of Nupur Sharma. Chishti was arrested by the police from Hyderabad on July 14, 2022. While rejecting Chishti's bail plea, the court said Chishti's active arrest from Hyderabad and recovery of several mobile phones from him were proof that he had an active involvement in the crime. On June 17, 2022, Gauhar Chishti raised slogans in support of Nupur Sharma's beheading outside Ajmer dargah. The video went viral on social media.
