Jammu Govt fires 5 employees for anti-national activities

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government dismissed five employees on Saturday due to their involvement in anti-national actions.

According to a statement from the government, five employees would be let off for engaging in anti-national activities in violation of Article 311 of the Indian Constitution. "A person working in civil functions under union or a state may be fired under Article 311 of the Constitution of India."

According to the statement, "law enforcement and intelligence services had received negative notice of the activities of these personnel due to their involvement in activities detrimental to the interests of the security of the state."

Afaq Ahmad Wani, Manager Baramulla Central Cooperative Bank Ltd, Tanveer Saleem Dar, Constable in the Auxiliary Wing of the J&K Police, Syed Iftikhar Andrabi, VLW, Rural Development Department (Panchayat Secretary), Irshad Ahmad Khan, Orderly cum Chowkidar in the Jal Shakti Department, Baramulla, and Abdul Momin Peer, Assistant lineman, PHE Sub Division Handwar.

"The government has enacted a policy of "Zero Tolerance" toward anti-national elements who have sought refuge by claiming to be connected to the government apparatus. 39 government officials have already been fired under the terms of Article 311 of the Indian Constitution prior to these five dismissals. The government will continue to take strong measures against these anti-national groups in the future without hesitation "It reads.
