'Amar Jawan Jyoti' to be lit in this state in honour of martyrs, announced CM

Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has announced the construction of 'Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti' in the capital Raipur in honour of the martyrs. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will perform the Bhoomi pujan of this 'Amar Jawan Jyoti.' On Saturday, Bhupesh Baghel said that on the lines of 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' a memorial of martyred soldiers and soldiers of other security forces will be built here.

The Amar Jawan Jyoti flame at India Gate in the same Delhi was recently merged into the national war memorial, which was criticised by some persons. Officials of the state's public relations department said on Saturday, "Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has announced the construction of 'Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti' in the capital Raipur in honour of the martyrs. Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti will be constructed in the premises of the 4th Corps Chhattisgarh Armed Forces at Mana in Raipur.''

He also said that in honour of the martyrs, 'Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti' will continue to burn continuously and its Bhoomi pujan will be performed by Rahul Gandhi on February 3. CM Baghel said, "Congress has been a part of those who make sacrifices and knows how to respect sacrifices. History has been witnessed that any society which does not maintain the respect of its martyrs, does not cherish the memories of their sacrifices, disrespects their signs, that society disappears." In 1972, our PM Indira Gandhi Ji had lit the Amar Jawan Jyoti in Delhi in honour of the martyred brave soldiers of India, which had been burning continuously since 1972. But the central government removed the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' from India Gate and shifted it to the National Summer Memorial. At India Gate, the burning 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' was visible to the visitors. They were proud and grateful to the martyred soldiers of India.
