New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today addressed the nation in the first episode of his monthly radio programme of this year 'Mann Ki Baat.' This is the 85th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' to be aired on the last Sunday of every month, which was broadcast on ALL India Radio News and mobile app from 11.30 am onwards. Prime Minister Modi spoke on several topics including Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary, education, corona, Republic Day, Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti. PM Modi said, 'Today is the death anniversary of our revered Bapu, this day of 30 January reminds us of Bapu's teachings.' He said, 'Just a few days ago we celebrated Republic Day, the tableau of the country's valour and strength, which we saw on the Rajpath in Delhi, has filled everyone with pride and enthusiasm. A digital statue of Netaji has been installed at India Gate, we can never forget the way India welcomed it, the sentiments expressed by each and every countryman. India is re-establishing its national symbols through these efforts in the nectar festival of independence. We saw that the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' near India Gate and the 'National War Memorial' nearby were united.
Prime Minister Modi said, 'Padma honour has also been announced in India. There are many such names among the recipients of Padma awards, about which very few people know. These are the unsung heroes of our country, who have done extraordinary things in ordinary circumstances. For example, Basanti Devi of Uttarakhand has been awarded the Padma Shri. Basanti Devi lived her entire life in the midst of struggles. Similarly, 77-year-old Lorembam Beeno Devi of Manipur has been patronizing the Leeba Textile Art of Manipur for decades. He has also been awarded the Padma Shri. Arjun Singh of MP has received the Padma award for recognizing the art of Baiga tribal dance.
