New Delhi: US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will release the pictures of Vikram's landing site from its lunar orbiter to assist in the ongoing analysis of Lander Vikram of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chandrayaan-2. This NASA orbiter will cross the moon from the landing site of Vikram lander on September 17 and today it will pass by it. However, it is also being expressed that due to the darkness of the moon at that place, the pictures of the lander Vikram and his landing site may be blurred. It is not clear how far this NASA orbiter will reach the landing site today. The name of this NASA orbiter is 'Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter' (LRO). In the early hours of 7 September, Vikram Lander lost contact with ISRO's control room at only 2.1 km from the lunar surface. After this, the location of the lander on the moon was detected with the help of Chandrayaan 2's orbiter, but still, contact with Vikram lander could not be established. Today's pictures can give information about what changes were made on his landing site on the moon after Vikram's hard landing and how is Vikram on the moon. Site pictures can help ISRO to analyze it. India was going to become the fourth country in the world by soft-landing on the moon. But due to loss of contact, Vikram had a hard landing. ISRO has said that every effort is being made to establish contact with Vikram Lander.
