BANGALORE: As part of the May Karnataka Assembly polls campaigning for May tenth, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to hold roadshows on Monday in Bangalore focussed on lifting up opportunities of BJP in seats where it is on the back foot. The BJP targets to wrestle BTM Layout, Jayanagar and Vijayanagar constituencies in Bangalore which are currently held by powerful Congress candidates. Ramalinga Reddy, a senior Congress leader, is the representative for BTM Layout. Jayanagar MLA Sowmya Reddy is his daughter. BJP previously held the seat. M. Krishnappa, a former minister and one of the wealthiest candidates, is running for the Congress in the Vijaynagar seat. Instead of veteran leader V. Somanna, the BJP chose newcomer Umesh Shetty for the Govindarajanagar seat. Congress candidate Priyakrishna is the son of Congress politician Krishnappa. Amit Shah's campaign tour is carefully thought out to support the BJP candidates and guarantee victory. In the BTM Layout constituency, Shah would take part in a roadshow from Audugodi signal to Total Mall in Madivala between 4.50 and 5.50 p.m. From 5.50 to 6.40 p.m., he will conduct a roadshow in the Jayanagar constituency from East End Main Road to Shalini Grounds in Jayanagar. From Basaveshwara Nagar police station to Nagarbhavi circle, the roadshow is also organised. This program aims to engage voters in the constituencies of Vijaynagar and Govindarajanagar while also boosting the morale of party employees. The roadshow will take place from 7 to 7:50 p.m. There are 28 Assembly seats in Bangalore, and the BJP is doing well. Due to anti-incumbency and the rainy season infrastructure breakdown in Bangalore, the party is up against severe competition from the Congress.
