Amit Shah urges people to vote for a better future

NEW DELHI: Election for the second and final phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections is being held on Monday. 

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, urged voters to cast ballots for change in the state while Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged them to vote for a better future. For 93 assembly seats, voting has already begun.

The election in Gujarat have been garnering a lot of attention due to it being the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Shah made an appeal to voters, particularly the young, urging them to cast their ballots in the greatest number possible in order to elect his government with a commanding majority that has guaranteed peace and prosperity in the state. He emphasised that their votes would determine Gujarat's bright future.

Gandhi, on the other hand, tweeted that they will keep their pledge to the women, farmers, young people, and all Gujarati citizens to bring about change. He urged voters to cast their ballots in big numbers in order to advance Gujarat.

The final day to cast a ballot in the assembly elections is December 5. A total of 833 candidates from different parties, including the Congress, BJP, and AAP, are running in the second phase.

The polls opened at 8 am and close at 5 pm. The Gujarat Legislative Assembly has 182 seats in total.  On December 8, the results will be made public.
