YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on Friday kicked off 500 more "Dr YSR Thalli Bidda Express" vans for safe transportation of expecting mothers and infants. According to an official announcement, these vehicles would provide free transportation to up to four lakh women and infants each year. Each district will receive around 30 vehicles, each of which will be equipped with innovative labor-related equipment and will be equipped with a GPS-enabled system to ensure safety and security. It stated that post-natal women do not need to wait for the vehicle because they can identify and track the vehicle's whereabouts in real time. A centralised call centre for post-natal women has also been established. The Dr. YSR Thalli Bidda Express App, in addition to the phone centre, has been set up for coordination between postnatal ladies, nurses, and drivers, according to the release. The government provides Rs. 5,000 to mothers as a recuperative allowance through the YSR Arogya Aasara programme, as well as transportation using YSR Thalli Bidda Express trucks to safely transport the women and their newborns from government hospitals to their homes.
