The Andhra Pradesh Health Department has issued a warning in view of the cyclone

Visakhapatnam: The Health and Family Welfare Department has issued a warning in view of the possibility of a heavy cyclone in Rayalaseema and southern coastal areas on November 25 and 26. and told health authorities to be prepared for pre-and post storm conditions.

Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Katmaneni Bhaskar has directed the district medical and health authorities to set up medical teams in the relief centres and to set up adequate levels of medicines and pesticides. He urged alternative power sources in hospitals, including public health centres in villages, and two ambulances in each of the high-risk areas.

The authorities also asked for the deployment of physical and mental injuries teams, identifying sellers for food supply, transferring pregnant women to hospitals with appropriate dates for the week and organizing medical camps in medium-risk areas.

As per the forecast, heavy to heavy rains are expected in Rayalaseema and the districts of the southern coastal areas on November 25 and 26. In the same days, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall.
