Another big setback for Congress, now this veteran leader joins BJP

Visakhapatnam: Congress has suffered a major setback in another state of South India. Former CM of Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy has joined the BJP. He had said goodbye to Congress only last month. Reddy was the last chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh. It is being said that due to a tussle with the leadership, he decided to leave the Congress.

The special thing is that Reddy has decided to join the BJP at a time when one year is left for the assembly elections in the state. Presently, the YSR Congress is in power in the state under the leadership of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is being said that Reddy's entry can be beneficial for the BJP, which is trying to expand in South Indian states.

The special thing is that after the formation of Telangana in 2014, Reddy resigned from the post of CM. Because of that, he formed his own party, the Jai Samaikya Andhra Party. However, in the year 2018, he returned to the party in the presence of the then Congress chief, Rahul Gandhi. He had then said that even though I have resigned from the post of Chief Minister, I cannot separate from the Congress.
