Anurag Kashyap came to Mumbai with Rs 5,000, once wanted to become a scientist

Today is the birthday of Bollywood's legendary director Anurag Kashyap. He was born on September 10, 1972, in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father Prakash Singh was the chief engineer of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited and was working in Obra Thermal Power Station in Sonbhadra district near Varanasi. Anurag did his early schooling from Green School Dehradun and at the age of eight, he came to study in Scindia School in Gwalior. Anurag wanted to become a scientist and because of his wish, Anurag Kashyap came to Delhi for higher education. Here he took admission in Zoology at Hansraj College (University of Delhi), although during this time he joined a street play group 'Jan Natya Manch' and started doing street plays.

After that, he got a chance to go to the 'International Film Festival of India', and in ten days he watched 55 films. Vittorio's (Vittorio de Sica) film Bicycle Thief impressed him the most. Let me tell you that Anurag Kashyap first co-wrote Ram Gopal Varma's film Satya. After that, he started his directorial career with the film 'Paanch', which could not be screened due to the censor board. He then directed Black Friday (2007), a film based on a book written by Hussain Zaidi about the Mumbai bomb blasts.

Very few people know that Anurag Kashyap came to Mumbai in the year 1993. At that time, he had five thousand rupees in his pocket. After that, when he gradually started running out of money, he had to sleep on the streets too. However, in the meantime, he somehow got work in Prithvi Theatre. In 1998, Manoj Bajpayee introduced him to Ram Gopal Varma. At present, Anurag Kashyap's net worth is around $110 million i.e. about 806 crores. However, nothing is confirmed.
