Actress Anushka Sharma has filed a petition in the in Bombay high court against the sales tax department. The actress challenged notice issued to her by the department for the recovery of tax for the years 2012-13 and 13-14. According to the information the hearing was adjourned till February 6. The court had directed the Sales Tax Department to reply within three weeks. After the court raised an objection, Anushka had withdrawn the plea made by her tax advisor on this front. The department had pulled up the actor for filing two petitions against the notice through her tax consultant. Anushka has now filed the petition in her own name after the court raised an objection to the petition filed in her CA's name. The Bombay HC observed that the petitioner should be Anushka Sharma and not her CA. As per the information, The petitions were filed through Shrikant Velekar, a taxation consultant. The bench of Justices Nitin Jamdar and Gauri Godse observed said, "These petitions are filed by the petitioner's taxation consultant. There is no reason why the petitioner cannot file these petitions on solemn affirmation. The writ petitions are thus dismissed, with the petitioner free to file petitions on the petitioner's own affirmation." On the work front, Anushka Sharma was last seen in Qala. The film featured Babil Khan, Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherji in pivotal roles, the Netflix release received rave reviews. Anushka will next be a part of Chadkda Express.
